Craft beer pioneer brews up reopening plus more popular stories

1. San Antonio's Alamo Beer Co. to reopen taproom after 5-month hiatus. Beloved brewery Alamo Beer Company will soon be back on tap. The craft brewing pioneer has been on hiatus since February to renovate its East Side taproom at 202 Lamar St., but says it will reopen in July.
2. Funky California brunch chain to open first Texas cafe in San Antonio. A small California chain known for massive omelets and quirky decor is hoping to wiggle out some space in San Antonio’s ever-tightening brunch scene. Squeeze In will open its first Texas location at 2230 TPC Parkway as early as the fall.

3. San Antonio Sichuan favorite to replace shuttered Chinese chain. Houston transplant is out, and a hometown favorite is in at 12730 I-10 Frontage Rd. on the Northwest Side. Tiger Chinese Cuisine, the sole San Antonio location of a ubiquitous Clutch City chain, has closed, making room for a second location of Ping’s Sichuan Kitchen.
4. Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons plans 2nd San Antonio cafe. Tim Hortons hasn't yet opened its first San Antonio cafe, but it's already pulling a power play. The massive Canadian doughnut and coffee chain is opening a second Alamo City location at 14076 Nacogdoches Rd. on the Northeast Side.
5. Cali chain Fatburger closes last standalone San Antonio restaurant. Call it a Greek tragedy with buns instead of pita. After soaring with Icarus-like expansion plans in 2022, Fatburger has now closed its last standalone San Antonio restaurant at 13480 San Pedro Ave. at Bitters Road and U.S. 281.
