Vehicle Vending
San Antonio nabs one of the very first car vending machines in America

You can get practically anything out of a vending machine — including a new ride. Online shopping platform Carvana opened a San Antonio vehicle vending machine on Wednesday, March 15.
"We've been offering our free delivery services in the San Antonio market for almost a year and a half now, and reception to the Carvana car buying experience has been great," says Carvana founder and CEO Ernie Garcia in a release. "With the high adoption rate of the new way to buy a car in San Antonio, it made sense to offer the unique pickup experience here next."
The unique "vending machine" — the fourth of its kind in the U.S. — is located at 5435 N. Loop 1604 W. The eight-story structure has four delivery bays and can hold almost 30 cars.
So how does it work? Step one is to find and purchase your new car via Carvana's website or mobile app. Next, arrive at Carvana's site, where a representative will give you a custom coin for the vending machine. For car buyers outside of the local delivery zone, Carvana will subsidize $200 in airfare and arrange white glove transportation from the airport.
If the car vending machine isn't quite your style, Carvana will drop off your new ride for free. The growing Arizona-based company also offers trade-ins, financing, and a seven-day return policy.
Hours for Carvana's San Antonio vending machine are Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 7 pm.
