Everything to know about celebrity chef's new San Antonio restaurant

Castlehill Bistro in Edinburgh served approachable fare like sliders
A celebrity chef known for Netflix’s The Final Table and the Food Network’s Chopped is opening a new restaurant at 5138 UTSA Blvd #101: Graham Campbell will soon launch a San Antonio version of his Edinburgh, Texas restaurant Castlehill Bistro.
Alan Williams, the hawk-eyed founder of the San Antonio Restaurants Facebook group, first alerted locals via a social media post. CultureMap confirmed signage has popped up at the building that once housed troubled social club Privat, but there’s no public timeline just yet. A request for more information was not returned at press time and an Instagram page for the business currently has no posts.
Campbell first gained fame when he was named the executive chef of the Ballachulish Country House Hotel in Fort William, Scotland. When the chef was 25, the property’s restaurant received a Michelin Star, making Campbell one of the youngest Scottish chefs to head a starred restaurant.

Although he didn’t score a win on Netflix’s culinary competition, The Final Table did spark a life change. According toThe Edinburgh Advocate, the connections gained during filming eventually led him to South Texas. He opened Castlehill Bistro in 2023, which appears to have closed.
It’s unclear whether the San Antonio and Edinburgh locations will share more than a name. In Scotland, he cooked nouvelle cuisine like chilled pea velouté with fennel sorbet and poached apricots. From his smaller city base — Edinburgh has a population just exceeding 100,000 — Campbell presented more approachable dishes like a ribeye with tobacco onions and chili butter.
In Edinburgh, Campbell also operated a series of pop culture-themed Castlehill Markets that might give Michelin’s purportedly elitist inspectors pause. Its Instagram profile says that it operates in San Antonio, but no local events are featured.
