For San Antonio couple Kela Nabors and Kevin Nabors, necessity was the mother of invention. When their daughter developed severe eczema, the couple took matters into their own hands and whipped up an all-natural body mousse and oatmeal soap bar. Little did they know, those first two products would be the start of a full bath and body line.

After years of online sales and farmers market pop-ups, Organically Bath & Beauty now has a permanent home. The new shop opened May 12 in the bustling Boardwalk on Broadway development at 4011 Broadway Ave., according to a release.

The cozy shop allows the couple to showcase their products in a light-filled space with gold and warm wood accents. The walls and shelving are all painted white to allow the colorful bath bombs and playful doughnut-shaped soaps to pop.

All of the offerings are homemade with organic, cruelty-free ingredients clear of artificial dyes, parabens, mineral oil, and tetrasodium. The product line — including luxury body scrubs, moisturizers, soy candles, men’s essentials like shaving cream and beard balm, baby wash, and hair care — are meant to be enjoyed by the whole family. There is even a Fur Babies line of shampoos for pets.

The shop is also collaborating with local businesses to create scents that are uniquely San Antonio. In late May, it teamed up with nearby Brew’s Lee Tea on a soap bar made with brewed black tea and vanilla extract that captures the aroma of the tea shop’s popular milk tea.

In June, Organically also debuted a series of weekly classes held every Wednesday and Friday between 7-8 pm. Each week during Kela’s Sip & Create, guests can savor a complementary glass of wine from Hargrove Wine & Spirits while learning how to make customized bath bombs. Customers can also bring their own snacks and drinks for the evening.

If you can’t make those times, Organically is available for private events for both adults and children, and will even make a trip to you if you are not in the area.
