A brunch debut and a chili cook-off wake up San Antonio dining news

Yolk has opened a second San Antonio location.
San Antonio’s dining scene is saddling up at the end of February with a chili cookoff at Pullman Market and rodeo park-and-ride dinners at some of Pearl’s best restaurants. Meanwhile, Houston café Toasted Yolk is breaking out of its shell with a second San Antonio restaurant. Read on for more essential San Antonio food news.
OpeningsBuzzy Houston brunch chain The Toasted Yolk has opened a second San Antonio restaurant at 18402 N. Hwy. 281. Similar to other trendy A.M. cafés, such as Snooze and Another Broken Egg, the franchise offers a menu of comfort classics, including brisket and egg tacos and Benedicts (Toasted Yolk calls them Arnolds), alongside a few Southern dishes, such as shrimp and grits. The bar service goes beyond mimosas, pouring out boozier margaritas and the gin-based Rise 'N' Shine Punch.
A new boba shop has popped up at 904 FM 3009 in Schertz. The aptly named Boba and Eats mixes drinks like matcha, milk tea, and mocha Vietnamese coffee with lighter bites, like hazelnut toast with banana and strawberries, chia bowls filled with granola and chocolate, and pitaya bowls.

William Chris Vineyards has launched its 2025 Mary Ruth, a dry white blend the Hill County winery describes as having notes of “white and yellow flowers, enticing aromas of grass, juicy peach, white pineapple, and crème fraîche.” Co-founder William “Bill” Blackmon named the series as an ode to his mother, Mary Ruth Blackmon, in 2010, and it has been a best seller ever since. The wine is currently available to winery members and the general public through its website.
