Pinthouse Pizza teases opening date of first San Antonio brewpub

Pinthouse is known for its award-winning beer and tasty snacks.
An Austin-based brewpub is looking to reverse the fortunes of San Antonio’s struggling craft beer scene. Via Instagram, Pinthouse Pizza teased that it is on track to open its anticipated first Alamo City outpost at 5534 N. Loop 1604 W. in the spring.
“Over the next several weeks, we’ll be sharing what Pinthouse is all about: award-winning beer, handcrafted pizza, and a laid-back space rooted in community,” Pinthouse wrote. “We’re looking forward to pouring pints, slinging pies, and getting to know everyone.”
Founded in 2012, Pinthouse has since expanded to four locations around the Capital City. As of 2025, it is the nation's largest brewpub by barrelage, last year producing an astounding 23,000 barrels of favorites like its acclaimed Electric Jellyfish hazy IPA.
In addition to its award-winning IPA program, Pinthouse is also known for its pies (hey, it’s right there in the name). Specialty pizzas like the Shroomin’ Goat (roasted mushrooms, arugula, goat cheese) and Honey Pear (pear, caramelized onions, blue cheese, prosciutto, honey) are enhanced by seasonal specials like the current All A’Sprout It with preserved lemon white sauce, shaved Brussels sprouts, and bacon.

Since Pinthouse is a brewpub, there are also plenty of beer-friendly salty snacks. Some of the shareables include cheesy garlic bread, Bavarian-style pretzels, braised meatballs, queso, and fan-favorite pizza rolls stuffed with pepperoni.
The Pinthouse brand isn’t entirely new to San Antonio. Local distributor Silver Eagle Ventures began distributing its beers in January 2021, and now the pours are widely available in area bars.
"We've been distributing beer in the San Antonio market for the last four years and really love the people, culture, and overall vibe of the city," said Tyler Norwood, company co-founder and president, in the release."The enthusiasm and excitement San Antonians have shown for our beers over the past four years made the decision to expand south an easy and exciting one."
