Popular eatery exits Pearl food hall to make way for new Mexican pop-up
How does that saying go again: When one food truck leaves, another one takes its place? That is this month's mantra at the Pearl, anyway, where Kineapple will conclude its residency to make way for a new pop-up in its space at the Pearl 's Food Hall at Bottling Department.
“We were honored to debut Kineapple at Food Hall and it has been a great experience,” said Kineapple Owner Robby Grubbs. “After a year-long run and realizing its potential, we are looking forward to Kineapple’s next chapter in San Antonio.”
Kineapple's last day of service in its current home is Sunday, September 25. The new pop-up, El Diente de Oro, will open for service in early October, occupying the space throughout the end of the year.
The food truck is a northern Mexican concept by husband and wife team, Orlando and Susana Aguirre, who also operate Chilaquil. With offerings like asados de la abuela, carnes asadas, and botana para picar to name a few, the menu is inspired by the foods that Orlando and Susana enjoy while visiting family in northern Mexico.
“Following our pop-ups at Pearl’s outdoor kitchen, we're happy to temporarily join the Food Hall to continue sharing the meals that tie our families together with our community,” said Orlando Aguirre.
