COMING ATTRACTIONS
Old-world wine bar pours into San Antonio's Blue Star Arts Complex

A new restaurant and wine bar will bring some old-world charm to San Antonio's artsy Blue Star Arts Complex. King William Wine Company is finishing renovations at 1420 S. Alamo #C102 in hopes of an early October opening.
"We've built this concept with intention," says co-owner Juan Arreguin in a statement. "Every detail — from the menu to the membership wine lockers and lounge — is about creating a space where people feel connected, where old-world hospitality meets modern exclusivity. We want to cultivate not just a restaurant, but a community."
King William Wine Co., also co-owned by Jill Quick-McCrosky, will specialize in high-end food and wine pairings. Menu items like lavender-braised lamb shank, beef osso buco, and other rustic seasonal entrées will be served alongside both classic European vintages and bottles from emerging producers. Cocktails and rare spirits will also be available.

Beyond offering food and drink, King William Wine Co. says it wants to become a community space. There will be a special members-only lounge with wine lockers, and curated tasting events will be both public and private.
Somewhat confusingly, the address places it in the complex's C building, which hosts the Contemporary at Blue Star. The release, however, says it is located near Sukeban and Halcyon, and the architectural details on a rendering match the former home of South Alamode Panini & Gelato Company, which shuttered in late 2024.
No firm opening date for King William Wine Company has been announced, but the company says it will begin hosting soft-opening events starting in the next few weeks. The early services will give locals a first peek at the interior, which Arreguin says "has a truly original character and pays proper tribute to the spirit of the King William neighborhood."
