Healthy Eats
Feel good, look good at San Antonio's top destinations for healthy eating
Moderation is key, but sometimes, we need a little help. Luckily, eating clean and healthy has never been easier — if you know where to go. Whether you need a little waistline help or you just want to feel good about the choices you're making, here is our go-to list of healthy eats around San Antonio.
Pearl Farmers Market
It’s not a restaurant, but this farmers market hosts tons of local vendors serving up tasty items for you to take home. From specialty products to preserves, you can stock your pantry for a week of healthy options.
Zedric’s
Zedric's is a top pick for fabulous gourmet meals on the fly. Shop pre-packaged dishes for your convenience. Zedric's also offers home delivery of the menu. Must-try items include the buffalo chicken wraps, chicken and kale ravioli, steak and egg scramble, and sesame-crusted ahi tuna salad.
O’liva
A new addition to the health-food scene, O'liva is focused on organic ingredients. The items are so reasonably priced we had to read the menu eight times. "Slappin’ the Bass Ceviche" was out of this world, but, be warned, the menu changes often, so be ready to explore new dishes.
The Clean Plate
The Clean Plate is food sustainability at its finest. You can eat with confidence knowing precisely where your food is coming from. Favorites include pork belly, burgers, and sandwiches with all locally sourced ingredients.
Pharm Table
We love finishing a JoyRide class with a perfectly balanced lunch at Pharm Table. Whoever had the idea to put these two businesses together is brilliant, as it’s a healthy hour all the way around. The sweet potato with chicken, mushrooms, and kale means you don't have to worry about counting calories.
The Cove
Parents dig The Cove for its playground and activities to distract the kiddos, but the food is where they get it right. Organic and clean with gluten-free options, the menu offers extensive choices. We were impressed with the warm beet salad and the naked burger, whose motto is, "No buns. No fries. Happy thighs." We’ll take it.
