San Antonio’s culinary community is embracing all the best flavors of summer. The week heats up with sizzling celebrations in honor of National Tequila Day, followed by a weekend of outdoor film, inspired cocktails, and a cultural brunch.
Tuesday, July 24
National Tequila Day with Cazadores at The Rustic
Get your shot glasses ready for this fiesta celebrating the beloved south-of-the border spirit. Drink and eat up with $17.95 tacos and tequila flights, featuring three signature tacos and three samples of Cazadores Tequila. To top it all off, the bar will offer Cazadores Lemon Drop Ritas (with an extra shot of tequila, of course). Come early for a performance by a local mariachi band at 6:30 pm, followed by the folk and rock stylings of Cooper Greenberg at 8:30 pm.
Tacos y Tequila: A Tasting on the Big Deck at Sanchos
Sanchos presents a taco-filled rooftop celebration in honor of tequila lovers' favorite holiday. While taking in scenic views of the downtown skyline, sample 100 percent blue Weber agave tequila crafted by El Jimador, along with a pairing trio of Sanchos' signature tacos served on freshly made corn tortillas. Foodie Cinema: Under the Tuscan Sun at San Antonio Botanical Garden
A fresh take on the typical night out at the movies, Foodie Cinema screens film favorites while serving culinary fare and drink inspired by the movie. In this edition, the San Antonio Botanical Garden will screen Under the Tuscan Sun, and feature dishes and paired wines reminiscent of the Italian countryside setting of the film. Chef Dave Terrazas will begin the evening with a short culinary chat on seasonal and geographic foods, followed by the movie screening, and a rollout of inspired dishes. The event begins at 6 pm, and tickets are $35 ($31.50 for members).

A Night Supreme at The Hoppy Monk
Travel back to the swingin' '60s at this retro cocktail party, featuring jazz performances from the era. Inspired by the melodies of legendary jazz composer John Coltrane, the relaxed evening will present live tunes from The Spiders, and classic gin and rum cocktails crafted in a speakeasy style. The event begins at 8 pm, and is open to the public.
