Where to eat in San Antonio right now: 6 fresh favorites for the best seafood

Fresh seafood and hot summers belong together, so it seems fitting that we send you on an oceanic journey of epic proportions. Here are our favorite local restaurants serving outstanding seafood. These six spots belong on every San Antonio foodie's list.

El Bucanero
This is Mexican seafood done right. With two locations, El Bucanero is bustling, and there's always a line, for good reason. We’re all about the ceviche: Order both options; you won't regret it. Then move on to either the Shrimp a la Diabla dish or the El Bucanero with shrimp and bacon.

Costa Pacifica
Stone Oak's seafood staple is bright and cheery with every dish plated beautifully, which makes for a killer lunch. Try the Torre Lida, aka the tuna tower, with garlic and lime mushrooms. The octopus tacos are a must as well. There's also a second location in The Dominion if that's more your neck of the woods.

Ostra at Mokara Hotel & Spa
As gorgeous as ever with endless seafood options, we’d visit Ostra any day. If you’re feeling ambitious and have friends to dine with, you should try the chilled seafood tower loaded with oysters, clams, shrimp, snow crab claws, lobster, and sauces. Make a day out of it with a spa treatment from Mokara beforehand.

The Sandbar Fish House & Market
The Sandbar is the perfect stop for amazing wine and an afternoon of seafood. High-end and delicious, there are always incredible specials involved, so come looking to explore. But you can never go wrong with the regular raw selections or the sandwiches. Trust us on this.

Shuck Shack
Shuck Shack feels like you've stepped onto a beach. The lobster rolls, drinks, and festive atmosphere complement any beachside cravings you may have. We highly recommend the spicy banh mi tacos made with the fish of the day, cucumber, carrot, Thai basil, jalapeño, Kewpie mayo, fish sauce vinaigrette, and Sriracha. The bonus is that Shuck Shack has a great playground for the kiddos so you can enjoy your meal in peace.

Wildfish Seafood Grille
The crowds consistently pay patronage to this ever-trending spot for its fresh oyster bar and — our favorite — the pot stickers filled with spicy shrimp. It’s a stunning space that has a keen ability to bring us back over and over again.
