Where to Eat Right Now
Where to eat in San Antonio right now: 5 fabulous restaurant patios for May

This month's selections for Where to Eat focus on last-chance patio dining — before it's 100 degrees outside. Here are five favorite San Antonio restaurants with perfect patios to while away the last days of spring.
Aldaco's Stone Oak
Margaritas are a must on this gorgeous patio. Start with queso flameado, then dive into the chile relleno, stuffed with jack cheese or seasoned picadillo and cheese, drizzled in a tomato sauce. Bonus: The food is just as beautiful as the view.
Cover 3
We've found a quaint and well-done patio in Cover 3, and it's perfect for brunch because of the Bloody Mary bar. You should also eat, so try the eggs tournedos, featuring seared beef tenderloin and poached eggs atop English muffins topped with hollandaise sauce. It's served with country-fried potatoes — we'd like double of those.
Hopdoddy Burger Bar
The Rim is always vibrant and buzzing, and this patio is no exception. Grab a burger, our fave is El Diablo with Angus beef, pepper jack, caramelized onions, habanero and serrano chiles, salsa roja, and all the fixings. Cool off with the vanilla bean shake.
La Fonda on Main
This patio is amazing, full of vibrant colors and flowing breezes. Start with shrimp nachos, then try the tacos de pescado with fresh Gulf fish, handmade corn tortillas, chipotle mayo, and napa cabbage slaw. A nice complement is always the Mexican martini.
Stella Public House
This patio is at the epicenter of what's happening in the hot and artistic Blue Star. Try the balsamic portobello pizza with roasted red pepper, goat cheese, torn basil, spicy marinara, and mozzarella on a gluten-free crust — we love that extra crunch. You'll also need a mimosa flight, naturally.
