The best San Antonio restaurants for Mother's Day brunch
We will certainly take any excuse to brunch, but there's something special about a morning meal on Mother's Day. It's not just about the summer dresses and pretty gifts, it's about coming together with close family and friends. And, of course, mimosas.
Here are a few of our favorite San Antonio restaurants dishing up something unique for holiday brunching on Sunday, May 8.
Boiler House
There's nothing sweeter than a trip to the Pearl Farmers Market on Mother's Day followed by a brunch at Boiler House. The decadent eatery is serving its traditional brunch menu with a few specials such as lobster pot pie, peach and white chocolate bread pudding French toast (a mouthful), and breakfast lamb eggplant cassoulet.
Brigid
From 11 am to 3 pm, this King William eatery is offering a tasty brunch. Options include French toast with cheesecake butter, barbacoa tacos, peanut butter waffles with grapes three ways, eggs Benedict, and more savory dishes.
Liberty Bar
This beloved bar is the perfect place for Mother's Day for the young, hip mom. Open from 9 am to 2 pm, Liberty Bar is plating up its regular brunch menu — French toast, huevos rancheros, steel cut oats, and more — with several Mother's Day specials unveiled day of. Don't skimp on the screwdrivers and Bloody Marys.
The St. Anthony Hotel
The St. Anthony Hotel is dishing out a Mother's Day buffet from 10 am to 3 pm showcasing a seafood display with salmon, shrimp, oysters, and ceviche; a variety of salads; a fruit and cheese bar; and build-your-own Bloody Marys. Call ahead for reservations.
Silo Elevated Cuisine
From 11 am to 3 pm, Silo is offering a three-course Champagne brunch with an optional wine pairing. First course options include chilled avocado soup and strawberry arugula salad; second course includes eggs Benedict, grilled Atlantic salmon, and sauteed Gulf shrimp; and for dessert, toasted coconut mousse pie and dark chocolate truffle mousse.
Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery
One of our favorite restaurants is breaking its normal hours and opening on a Sunday for a Mother's Day brunch from 10 am to 4 pm. In addition to a complimentary mimosa for all moms, menu items include a Texas Gulf crab omelet, country ham Benedict with jalapeño corn bread, iced Gulf shrimp, and more.
Supper
Hotel Emma's Supper is sticking to their usual breakfast menu during normal hours, with an extra special perk of a complimentary glass of bubbly for the moms. Menu items include spiced waffle with duck confit, Meyer lemon ricotta pancakes, chorizo Scotch egg, and more.
