A West Texas original is coming to San Antonio. Big Bend Brewing Company has announced that it will open a new production facility in San Antonio in late 2017.
The fast-growing brewery from Alpine is best known for its core beers: Big Bend Hefeweizen, Tejas Lager, Terlingua Gold Ale, La Frontera IPA, and Number 22 Porter. And those beers have been a hit. Since launching in 2012, Big Bend has practically doubled production each year.
"We have been fortunate enough to have amazing fans, an excellent network of distribution partners, and some of the best retailers in Texas supporting our growth over these last four years," reads the announcement. "At 54,000 square feet, the new San Antonio facility will give us the extended reach needed to keep up with demand across the state of Texas in 2018."
The second outpost will not only increase overall production, but it will allow for the canning of seasonal brews and further development of the barrel-aging program in Alpine. Big Bend fans can also look forward to new can designs for the core beers.
For those planning a trip to West Texas soon, the Alpine outpost's tap room hours will expand in March.
