1. Utopia chorizo seasoning wins first place and $20,000 in H-E-B competition. Texas' favorite grocery chain H-E-B has completed its search for the next crop of Texas-made products to hit the shelves, and one Utopia brand in the top 10 came out victorious. Austin's Birria Queen has won the grand prize in the Quest for Texas Best, earning $25,000 for its birria seasoning bombs; and Utopia's Hess Street Foods won first place and $20,000 for its chorizo seasoning paste.

2. New San Antonio hotel with 4 bar and dining concepts opens downtown. The highly anticipated InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk is now open. Previously the Wyndham San Antonio River Walk, this hotel was sold and dramatically updated to include 390 rooms and four new bar and dining concepts. This transformation has been in the works for at least three years.
3. Pub grub gets elevated in new effort at embattled Stone Oak spot. Stone Oak has a new culinary hotspot that’s elevating pub fare in a tricky location that's seen multiple restaurants open and close in quick succession. Stacey Robinson, owner of Stone Terrace Gastropub, said the team hopes combining an upscale menu with an easygoing atmosphere will go over well with folks seeking a well-rounded experience.
4. Acclaimed family-owned Turkish restaurant makes San Antonio debut. A new Turkish restaurant has debuted in San Antonio with all your skewers and more. Called Selda Mediterranean Kitchen, it's a family-owned concept from Dallas, opening its first location outside DFW in San Antonio, at 9955 W I-10 Frontage Rd. right off I-10.

5. Swanky San Antonio resort shakes up nightlife with sleek new bar. A week after revealing swanky updates to its flagship Antlers Lodge, the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa followed up with the opening of a brand-new bar. Continuing its summer revamp, the hotel debuted its newest amenity, Woodbine Bar, on August 7.
