Cue the waterworks. Abby Lee Miller, the volatile star of Lifetime’s Dance Moms, is coming to San Antonio on May 24 for a dance class at Alamo Heights Gymnastics Academy. Though the reality legend once boasted that she has “no problem yelling at anybody's kid — free of charge,” this time it will cost parents up to $75.
According to Miller’s Instagram post, she is offering a warm-up, technique tips and tricks, an audition workshop, and an acrobatic class. The session will also include a Q&A, where guests can ask her questions like, “how do you carve a shiv out of soap?”
Onlookers are welcome to gawk for $27.93. Acrobatic dancers will have $75.38, while dancers with no acrobatic abilities can participate for $64.40. The class, held from 2-7 pm, is open to all levels and kids ages seven to 18.
The tickets include a 8X10 headshot and a prickly stipulation. The ticketing page says that anyone caught wearing counterfeit merchandise will have the garment seized. Official Abby Lee Miller couture will be available for purchase at the event.
Miller rose to nationwide prominence in 2011 with Dance Moms, a reality blockbuster chronicling the often rocky travails of Abby Lee Dance Company's Junior Elite Competition Team. The show launched the careers of several of the young dancers, including JoJo Siwa, Ava Michelle, and Sia’s muse, Maddie Ziegler.
The series ended after the eighth season, which focused on Miller’s struggle with Burkitt's Lymphoma. During the final years of the show, Miller became tabloid fodder for several missteps, including high-profile lawsuits with former cast members and a prison stint for bankruptcy fraud.
Lifetime cut ties with Miller in June 2025 following racism accusations from dance moms Adriana Smith and Camille Bridges. Although the instructor issued an apology, competition series Abby’s Virtual Dance-Off was shelved.
Alamo Heights Gymnastics Academy is located at 506 Sandau Rd. #600. The ticket page states that dancers must be able to front and back walkovers correctly in order to qualify for acrobatic instruction.
