Sprawling soccer-themed beer garden kicks into San Antonio's East Side

Pitch 25 in Houston offers everything from dodgeball to hammocks.
A gigantic sports bar with fútbol, games, and plenty of beer is kicking into San Antonio’s East Side. Pitch 25, an expansive entertainment complex from former Major League Soccer player Brian Ching, hopes to open at 221 Burleson St. in time for the 2026 World Cup in June.
The exact opening date seems to be still up in the air. While the mini-chain’s website says the team is aiming to host World Cup watch parties, recent project details filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation state construction will end in November 2026.

The concept debuted in Houston in 2018. Ching partnered with Aweida and Jeff Barati of The Kirby Group, adopting the format of popular H-Town beer gardens like Heights Bier Garten and Holman Draft Hall. Pitch 25 gave the format a sporty twist with an indoor soccer pitch and tons of TVs booming out “golllllll.”
The 25,590-square-foot complex is similarly sized to the original and an upcoming Katy location. The team will begin renovating the former home of the experiential gallery Lighthouse Artspace in February 2026.

Once open, guests can expect amenities like soccer fields, an arcade, lounge areas outfitted with hammocks, a dodgeball court, and patio games like cornhole. Live music is a frequent feature of Pitch 25’s Houston original.
The location will also include a full-service restaurant and bar. The food menu includes creative takes on pub grub like burgers, wings, tacos, and fried snacks like popcorn chicken and pickle fries. Libations include a vast craft beer list with both regional and national brews, wine, and cocktails.
Pitch 25 will get some competition from the nearby Burleson Yard Beer Garden, a more modest bar project that opened in 2016.
