Fun fact: the chi-chi-chi ha-ha-ha from the Friday the 13th franchise is actually ki-ki-ki ma-ma-ma. Not that anyone has time to argue semantics when Jason Voorhees is stalking them through San Antonio’s 13th Floor Haunted House.
This fall, the annual Halloween attraction returns to 1203 E. Commerce St. with one horror’s biggest names. Jason Universe: Survive The Night dares locals to confront the feared slasher in winding corridors where every corner yields new dangers.
During limited times each night, thrillseekers can even get inside Jason’s twisted mind through the Director’s Cut. The add-on gives a small group control of a four-button panel that controls whether the killer will panic, slash, strike, or stalk.
Those who love a good dystopia can also drop into a chemical wasteland. Dose of Decay invites daredevils to wander a decrepit cityscape overrun by mutated, twitching victims of a rogue chemist known as The Pharmacist. 13th Floor hasn’t released images, but it seems very Cronenberg. Eek!
In addition to the two spooky strolls, 13th Floor is adding a horde of new features for its 2026 season, including The Last of the Spinehelm, a zombie shooting range. Need to calm down after the harrowing experience? Eat your feelings at a food truck or down a stiff drink at the outdoor Expedition Bar or two hidden speakeasies.
The downtown haunt is also leveling up the theatricality with new staging and a hi-fi sound system that will make each ki-ki-ki sound like it's whispered in your ear. 13th Floor is also teasing a terrifying grand finale.
"We wanted to give San Antonio something wilder and more intense than ever before," said general manager Blaine Skreenock in a statement. "Getting to bring an absolute legend like the Jason Universe into the mix alongside the pure chaos of Dose of Decay, plus all our sound and set upgrades, means people are walking into a totally different level of scares the second they step inside."
13th Floor Haunted House runs on select nights September 12-November 8. Tickets start as low as $19.99 with a Respawn Pass available that allows guests to skip the line.
