Crunch Fitness opens new 54,000-square-foot gym in San Antonio
Crunch Fitness is making gains in San Antonio. Now it's adding a fourth location, Crunch Colonnade, located at 10103 Wurzbach Rd. This is a huge undertaking at 54,000 square feet (about the size of an H-E-B), which will cost $10 million. It opens in summer of 2025.
The Crunch Fitness franchise is growing fast, with 460 locations worldwide and 17 slated to open over the course of the year. Surely the branding helps; members are meant to have fun at the gym. It does have rows upon rows of the standard weight training equipment, but it also offers a wide range of classes from boxing, to Zumba, to stationary cycling.
The Colonnade location specifically will offer cardio and strength training equipment, "Power Half Hour" circuit training (a proprietary system at Crunch), personal training, group fitness, hot yoga, and cycling. There's also a HIITZone training area, another Crunch invention for containing high intensity interval training activities on indoor turf.
Aside from workouts, Crunch Colonnade will also offer tanning, water massage beds, red light therapy, and a sauna. There are also full-service locker rooms — which Crunch's website says include steam rooms, towel service, and essentials like shampoo — and onsite childcare.
Memberships are priced according to the location. Crunch Fitness hasn't shared pricing information for the Colonnade yet, but the nearby San Pedro and Bandera Road locations start at $9.99 a month for basic access, and add in classes and multi-club access at $24.99 or $25.99.
Whatever the pricing structure comes out to, there are some introductory deals in store. The first 500 founding members will join for $1 and get their first month free, along with an hour of personal training, a gym bag, a water bottle, and a t-shirt. Prospective members can also enter to win a free year of all-access membership. All that can be done at crunch.com.
The gym is also hiring a large team of more than 100 instructors, personal trainings, babysitters, and more.
