Celebrity chef stops by San Antonio's Pearl for one-night-only dinner

Tiffany Derry will be collaborating with Ladino on June 4.
On June 4, San Antonio’s Ladino will have a little extra starpower. TV personality Tiffany Derry is stopping by the acclaimed Pearl restaurant for a one-night-only collaborative dinner with chef Berty Richter.
Derry first nabbed national attention on season seven of Bravo cooking competition Top Chef, returning to screens months later for the eighth all-stars season. The fan favorite was so popular that other television offers soon followed, including Alton Brown’s Cutthroat Kitchen and Spike TV’s Hungry Investors. She is currently a permanent judge on Gordon Ramsay’s MasterChef.
In the Dallas area, however, she is more known for her contemporary take on Southern American cuisine. Her flagship restaurant, Roots Southern Table, earned the Beaumont native two James Beard Award finalist nods for Best Chef: Texas and Best New Restaurant.
Still, don’t automatically assume that the busy chef will be riffing on Southern cuisine during the collab. In 2024, Derry opened Radici Wood Fired Grill in Farmers Branch, turning her eye towards Italian wood-fired cooking. On May 25, she branched out again with Syrup + Sno, a shaved ice shop.
Although Ladino has not released the final menu for the evening, Richter shares with Derry a love of global flavors, even while keeping within a Mediterranean frame. There are even a few Southern ingredients on the regular menu, like the pecans used in a relish for kibbeh nayeh.
Tickets for the dinner are $125 and include five to six shared courses. Ladino is located at 200 E Grayson St #100 in the heart of Pearl.
