New San Antonio Restaurant Week to showcase top River Walk eateries

Range's Mississippi Mud Pie is a featured dessert during San Antonio Restaurant Week — River Walk Edition.
A new restaurant week with a charitable aim is splashing into San Antonio. The inaugural San Antonio Restaurant Week — River Walk Edition will run May 12-18, offering specially priced prix fixe meals and other specials from restaurants and bars located along the San Antonio River.
Although the format is similar, the promotion differs from Culinaria’s popular biannual Restaurant Weeks. A buck from every meal purchased goes to the San Antonio Hospitality Foundation, a nonprofit that gives scholarships to local food and beverage professionals.
Guests can go to any participating restaurant to enjoy discounted fixed-price meals, which cost $25-$55 depending on the eatery. Each menu contains two or more appetizer options, three or more entrée choices, and a pick of at least two desserts.
To add to the fun, the planners have created a San Antonio Restaurant Week Pass. The free pass does not require an app download and allows foodies to check in at each participating spot for a chance to win prizes.
The inaugural eateries include some of the most well-known restaurants in Alamo City, including chef Jason Dady’s Tre Trattoria and Range; bustling brunch spot Box St. All Day; Pullman Market restaurants Isidore, Fife & Farro, and Mezquite; and hidden gems like FlorVino Flower Winery.
Although the website offers handy sorting options for different types of cuisine and good-to-know amenities like ADA compliance, most restaurants have not revealed the exact menus yet. Dady revealed that Range would have choices like Tuscan fried chicken and Ora King salmon at Range, and smoked gouda white truffle radiatore at Tre.
A complete list of the contributing restaurants is available online. Guests can also sign up to have the pass emailed or texted directly from their mobile device.
