OPENING ALERT
New destination restaurant opens in New Braunfels' Old City Hall
New Braunfels’ Old City Hall will soon be back in session, this time for dinner. On February 17, the team behind some of the city’s most popular eateries will open Old City Hall Restaurant and Bar inside the landmark former municipal building at 200 N. Seguin.
The project comes from Wiggins Hospitality Group, the local team behind Hill Country hot spots like McAdoo's Seafood Company and La Cosecha Mexican Table. The company has been hard at work transforming the nearly century-old building into a dining destination. Previously, the site has served as New Braunfels Police Department headquarters, a World War II medic training site, a museum archive, and, most recently, city hall itself.
"The Old City Hall project has been a labor of love for our team," says Wiggins Hospitality partner Turner Wiggins in a previous release. "We are honored to be the newest stewards of this incredible building.”

The menu features refined takes on classic American fare. Menu highlights include:
- Texas Beef Tartare (Parisa) — finely chopped raw beef tenderloin, white Cheddar, shallots, pickled jalapeno, and marinated mustard seeds served with saltine crackers
- Little Gem Caesar — little gem romaine lettuce, shredded Parmesan, toasted focaccia breadcrumbs, and a creamy Caesar dressing
- Pigs in a Blanket — mini smoked beef sausages wrapped in puff pastry and served with honey dijon mustard aïoli, and black garlic ketchup
- Tuna Tartare — sushi-grade yellowfin tuna, diced avocado and mango, fresh lemon & chili oil crisp served with toasted focaccia slices
- Spicy Vodka Rigatoni — alla vodka sauce with Italian sausage served with rigatoni pasta and topped with burrata
- Peppercorn Filet Mignon — eight-ounce certified Angus beef with tempura-battered onion rings and a creamy au poivre sauce
- Steak Frites — eight-ounce certified Angus hanger steak sliced and served with skinny fries and a creamy herb and Bourbon sauce
- The Mayor’s Cheeseburger — double beef patties sandwiched with American cheese, house pickles, caramelized onion, and a béarnaise aïoli.

Standout dishes include rigatoni alla vodka, a little gem Caesar salad, and pigs in a blanket.

The cocktail program is equally timeless. Guests can sip on ice-cold martinis (both traditional and newfangled), negronis, frozen gin and tonics, and originals like the Beretta with Still Austin cask-strength Bourbon or a margarita with egg white foam.
The restaurant, designed by Dibello Architects, seats approximately 200 guests and includes a private dining room and patio. Although lunch will eventually be added, opening dinner hours are Sunday through Thursday, 4-9 pm, and Friday and Saturday, 4-10 pm. Reservations open February 9 through OpenTable.
