McIntyre's makes New Braunfels debut with riverside sports bar
The McIntyre's in ew Braunfels
A Texas sports bar chain is moving up I-35 from San Antonio, but don’t grumble about Austin just yet. Instead of opening in the Capital City, McIntyre’s has chosen New Braunfels for a riverside location at 478 Porter St.
While not quite an ice house, McIntyre’s other locations (two in Houston, two in San Antonio) blend indoor and outdoor seating. And the bartenders pop open a fair share of Miller Lites. The main difference: instead of an RCA flatscreen screwed into the wall, the bars have dazzling television walls showing everything from Spurs games to World Cup action.
The McIntyre's in New Braunfels will blend indoor and outdoor space.
The chain also has a full bar. Cocktails range from the classics (old fashioneds, ranch waters) to frozens to original creations that lean less bro-ey such as the Lovey Dovey with pineapple tequila and a splash of Squirt. If your favorite team makes it to the NBA finals, pop the cork on a bottle of Veuve Clicquot.

All of the previous locations have some sort of food, whether served from a counter or an outside food truck. Both of the San Antonio locations currently dish out pizza, but we’re not willing to go Nostradamus on the New Braunfels offerings. The only real theme seems to be salt.
Because much of the square footage is outdoor space, McIntyre’s actively encourages revelers to bring along furry companions. Each outpost holds a monthly McPup contest with prizes like a bar gift card and loot from local pet businesses. One might want to watch their cornhole bags if they have an overactive fetcher.
Although McIntyre’s has established a social media presence for the new bar, it has not yet announced an estimated opening date. A new Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing states that the project will wrap up in February 2027, but timelines are subject to change. The company did not immediately return a request for more information.
