Famous burger and chicken wing joints team up for new San Antonio space
No matter how simple a burger and fries are, there will always be more places to get them. If you build it, they will come. So it goes at Fatburger and Buffalo's Express, opening a joint new location at 6507 W. Loop 1604 North — on the north adjacent shopping center to Culebra Creek Park. Many more are slated to follow across the state.
The first shared area restaurant by FAT (Fresh. Authentic. Tasty.) Brands Inc. and Brame Brands serves up classic fried food like Fatburgers, chicken wings, Fat Fries, and hand-scooped milkshakes. The partnership represents both coasts: Fatburger hails from Los Angeles, while Buffalo's Express is from Roswell, Georgia.
On opening day, May 4, Fatburger is offering up 100 free burgers for the first 100 guests. Visitors are also invited to enter an opening day raffle to win "one of 10 free Original Fatburger meals for a year."
“We are thrilled to open our first location with Brame Brands,” said Jake Berchtold, president and COO of FAT Brands’ fast casual division, in a press release. “We plan to aggressively expand in the state in partnership with the group, opening a total of 100 units, 40 Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express’, 40 locations of Round Table Pizza and 20 Johnny Rockets."
Some Fatburger fans surely already exist in San Antonio, and have been enjoying the menu at Six Flags Fiesta since 2023. The chain stands out thanks to its wider-than-usual customization for a self-professed "burger stand." In addition to the usual burger toppings — lettuce, onion, tomato, etc. — customers can add bacon, eggs, chili, and onion rings. They can also avoid beef by opting for a turkey burger or a crispy chicken sandwich.
The latter camp of poultry eaters are especially catered to at Buffalo's Express, which calls itself a "sister brand" to Fatburger and focuses on chicken wings with and without the bones. Of course, half the joy of chicken wings is the sauces, and these also come with celery, carrots, and dipping dressings.
The San Antonio Westwood Vista Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express will be open Sundays through Wednesdays, from 11 am to 11 pm, Thursdays from 11 am to midnight, and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 am to 1 am.
