A new Bojangles restaurant is slated for the southwest side of San Antonio. State filings indicate that the fast-food chain will build a 2,655-square-foot building at 3003 SW Military Dr., San Antonio. This makes good on Bojangles' previously stated promise to open multiple new locations in San Antonio.

The wildly popular North Carolina-based chain debuted in Alamo City in 2023, opening at 8730 Potranco Rd. At the time, the company stated it would be the first of three local storefronts — part of a Texas expansion plan that included 50 outposts in the Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio areas.

Like other Bojangles locations, the San Antonio sites serve the chain's signature buttermilk biscuits topped with bacon, egg, and cheese; country ham; or sausage. The chain displays the baking process behind glass partitions, where guests can guess what "bo-berries" are. (Shhh — they're blueberries.)

Although the company has not released the full menu, it will likely not offer bone-in chicken. When corporate heads announced the Texas expansion, they said the chain would streamline the traditional menu, focusing on best-sellers like tenders and chicken sandwiches.

The Southern-style sides equally cemented the fast food joint's cult reputation. The menu boasts pinto beans, mac 'n' cheese, and Bo-Tatos, Bojangles' round hashbrown-tater tot hybrids.

If permitting and construction go as scheduled, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing says construction will wrap up in February 2026. There's still no word on where and if a third store will be built, but the franchising group previously said it was looking on the Northeast Side.
