Party favors and a complimentary Champagne toast is included for those who stick around until midnight. $93-128. Seatings at 5 pm and 7 pm.
Boudro’s Texas Bistro
Head to the River Walk for a very romantic New Year’s at one of Alamo City’s bonafide classics. In addition to the regular menu, the bistro is offering a three-course meal that includes a Chioggia beet and cress salad, a wood grilled Angus filet with butter poached blue crab, and chocolate filled pear poached in Zinfandel and topped with pistachios and mascarpone. Clementine
This Castle Hills favorite is sure to pop your cork with a seasonal seven-course dinner that delights all the senses. Alaskan king crab with vanilla mayo and tarragon, Colorado lamb with minty carrots, and gnocchi with braised chicken thighs and jus are just some of the highlights of a menu that ends with a luscious chocolate dessert. $85 with wine pairings available from $35-$50. 5-9 pm.
Little Italy Restaurant & Pizzeria
New Year’s Eve is a notoriously boozy night, so start with a solid foundation. This quaint Italian restaurant carb loads all the red sauce greatest hits from eggplant parmigiana to classic spaghetti and meatballs. But since this is a special occasion, why not go all out with the surf and turf chef's special? The juicy filet mignon in a Marsala mushroom sauce served with shrimp scampi is sure to start 2019 with a bang. 11 am-8 pm.
Maverick Texas Brasserie
Holy mackerel! This San Antonio newcomer is pulling out all the stops for its first New Year’s Eve feast. The prix fixe menu includes an embarrassment of riches with choices like bone marrow and beef tartare, Beef Wellington with wild mushrooms, roasted rack of lamb, and a lobster eclair. If you want to take the meal completely over the top, add shaved Perigord black truffles or a shellfish plateau for $50 extra. $85-$115 for adults with optional $45 wine pairing, $25 for children. 5-11:30 pm.
Meadow Neighborhood Eatery & Bar
New Year’s resolutions don’t start until January 1, so don’t hold back on December 31. This farm-to-table restaurant knows the score with a contemporary Southern menu that includes treats like beef carpaccio; Gulf flounder with barley, grilled kale, and caper butter; and a chocolate ganache tart with Texas pecan crumble and dried cherry puree. $65 with optional $35 wine pairing. 5-10 pm.
Zinc Bistro & Bar
NYE doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. Even with wine pairings, this chic eatery’s festive prix fixe will leave money left over for brunch the next morning. A salt-and-pepper shrimp salad whets the appetite for a porcini crusted sirloin with Yukon Gold potatoes, roasted chanterelle mushrooms, and white asparagus tips. Then, a harlequin of chocolate mousse (we don’t know what that is either) ends the meal on a high note. $45 with $20 adder for wine pairings. 11 am-2 am.
