It's Wine Time
Swanky wine bar pops the cork in trendy San Antonio district
Wine lovers have a new reason to visit the Pearl district. The trendy Alamo City neighborhood will welcome High Street Wine Co. on Thursday, October 20.
The concept comes from partner Mark Stoltz and advanced sommelier Scott Ota, one of Wine & Spirit's Best New Sommeliers of 2014. In addition to becoming a hot spot for wine and bites, High Street also aims be a wine authority for San Antonio with tastings, classes, and professional consulting.
"We are excited to come to Pearl because we are joining one of the most energetic neighborhoods in San Antonio. Our focus on hospitality, coupled with a world-class wine program, should help Pearl further establish itself as a major food and beverage destination," said Stoltz in a statement.
The wine list will feature high-quality, small-production, seasonal varietals that can be enjoyed by the bottle or by the glass. For the adventurous, High Street will offer three rotating wine flights. Need wine on the run? The bar will sell to-go cups, called Govino, so you can sip while you stroll around the Pearl district.
A food menu will be crafted to complement the wine selection — and that philosophy extends beyond the bar. For the Pearl Farmers Market, High Street will curate a wine menu to match each weekend's lineup.
Look for High Street in the Pearl plaza, facing Cured. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 11 am to 11 pm; Friday, 11 am to midnight; Saturday, 9 am to midnight; and Sunday, 10 am to 10 pm.
