New state-of-the-art music venue and beer garden gallops into the Pearl
One of the Pearl’s landmark buildings will soon have some new oom-pah-pah. On Tuesday, March 15, the popular entertainment and shopping district announced its newest attraction, a state-of-the art music venue and outdoor beer garden housed in the historic Pearl Stable building.
According to a release, Stable Hall is set to debut in the spring of 2023 at 307 Pearl Pkwy.
The 1,000-capacity venue, once the digs of the brewery’s draft houses, will host a wide array of acts reflective of San Antonio’s diverse cultural heritage. Though regional and national touring acts will fill the space with sound, it will place special focus on highlighting local musicians like Santiago Jiménez Jr., Azul Barrientos, and Campanas de America.
“Stable Hall is San Antonio’s newest oldest music venue,” quips Pearl Commercial CEO Elizabeth Fauerso via release. “This venue will capture the authenticity of historic dance halls in the country and usher the next chapter of music in San Antonio by honoring the roots of our region and showcasing the best in live music.”
Stable Hall will boast a dramatically draped “Jewel Box Stage” outfitted with top-of-the-line acoustics and lighting design. Guests will enjoy the spectacle from floor seats or a curved balcony. Architects Clayton Korte and Austin-based interior design firm Joel Mozersky Design were brought in to revive the building’s ambience with rough-hewn wooden floors, hand-painted murals, and a restored wood ceiling.
Adding to the allure will be an outdoor beer garden, a nod to the German roots of the former Pearl brewery. The shaded space will be canopied by string lights and nestled in landscaping from Wood + Carr Design Group. Long tables and benches will provide plenty of seating for revelers.
Craft beer will naturally be the main draw of the beverage program, but Stable Hall will also offer a full bar with specialty cocktails. German Hill Country fare like kolaches, bratwurst, and pretzels will soak up all the booze.
Stable Hall will add to the popular tourist destination’s recent growth spurt. Also on the horizon is Ladino, a Mediterranean restaurant from Austin’s acclaimed Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group. That spot, taking over the former space of Il Sogno Osteria, is set to arrive in summer 2022.
