International burger chain unwraps opening date for North San Antonio location
Sliders aren’t anything new in San Antonio. Anyone who has watched Rachael Ray or visited one of the dozens of pubs and food trucks that serve the mini burgers has surely been eating them for years. But a new restaurant in Ingram Park Mall may soon have locals looking at them in a whole new way.
According to a release, cult burger chain Burgerim is now open at 6301 NW Loop 410. This is the third Alamo City location for the Israeli franchise following openings in North Star Mall and the Park North Shopping Center. A fourth outpost at La Cantera is set to open by the end of the year.
The fast-casual eatery specializes in sliders (the owners call them “sensibly sized burgers”) with a Middle Eastern twist, letting customers build their own from a huge variety of patties and toppings.
The name translates to “many burgers” in Hebrew, an apt description for the offerings that come in packs of one, two, three, or 16. The sliders are fully customizable with classic, whole wheat, and gluten-free buns; patties made from Wagyu beef, lamb, salmon, falafel, and more; and toppings like several varieties of cheese, bacon, avocado, and fried egg.
The chain also has chicken and ribeye sandwiches; fresh salads; an assortment of fries; and simple desserts like New York cheesecake, flourless chocolate cake, and a Rice Krispies Treats-style Marshmallow Dream bar.
In celebration of its debut, Burgerim will host a grand opening party starting at 5 pm on October 19. The first 50 guests in line will receive a free Classic Beef Burger, and the next 50 will be able to purchase it for only $1. All 100 will be entered into a raffle for gift cards from Ingram Park stores.
Those who are not punctual will still get a good deal. A donation of a bag of pet food for the San Antonio Humane Society gets guests the same $1 deal, and all others will receive 20 percent off their purchase.
