Gourmet hot dog chain teases plans for 2 new locations in San Antonio

A fast-casual chain specializing in gourmet hot dogs is rolling into San Antonio. According to public records, California-based Dog Haus will open two new locations sometime in 2020.
The news was first teased in a September 24 release announcing plans for 10 new stores in Austin. In addition to that major expansion, the company revealed several new outposts planned for the Lone Star State, including stores in San Antonio, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Houston.
A media contact for Dog Haus did not return a request for comment by deadline, but filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations show locations in the works at 22503 N. Hwy. 281 in Stone Oak and 9330 Potranco Rd. on the Far West Side in 2020.
According to the records, the Portranco storefront will arrive first, wrapping up construction on December 31. The Highway 281 Dog Haus is slated to finish construction at the end of March 2020. The opening dates have not been confirmed.
San Antonians can look forward to innovative takes on hot dogs like the Sooo Cali with wild arugula, avocado, tomato, crispy onions, and spicy basil aioli; the Pineapple Express with bouillonnaise, a sweet ginger glaze, pineapple, and pickled jalapeños; and the classic Chili Idol with cheddar cheese sauce and chopped white onions.
Dog Haus also served Black Angus beef burgers and chicken sandwiches. The craft beer list usually focuses on local brews.
In all, the company revealed an ambitious 58 new locations coming to Texas, giving it a bigger presence than Wienerschnitzel. The chain first debuted in the state in July 2017 in Richardson.
