Yoga Around La Villita at La Villita Historic Arts Village
This free series invites you to see San Antonio’s historic La Villita Arts Village in a whole new way — in downward facing dog. Garrison Brothers presents Honey Dew Hullabaloo
Start your weekend off right with a day at this Texas Hill Country distillery. After initially dismissing suggestions to craft a honey-flavored bourbon, Garrison Brothers has since caught the buzz, and will premiere its limited Honey Dew with a special hullabaloo. With only 3,700 bottles produced, this special tasting from noon-6 pm is perhaps the only chance to try this experimental bourbon along with cigar pairings and a honey education tent.
Saturday, August 18
Bacon Bacon Bacon at Big Hops The Bridge
You’ll be in hog heaven at this aptly named event featuring bacon dishes from the best hometown chefs. Free to attend, the porky party lets you taste a variety of mouthwatering and creative samplers at $5 per item. For $15, take home a custom Urban-15 pilsner glass, which includes one Big Hops beer of choice. All proceeds benefiting Urban-15’s Center for Celebration Arts and adjunct programming.
Sunday, August 19
Margarita Throwdown at La Gloria Dominion
Before the start of the busy workweek, recharge with an ice-cold margarita at this heated cocktail competition. With the purchase of a $20 ticket, guests will have the chance to sample margaritas from five competitors from chef Johnny Hernandez’s restaurant group, paired with two delicious tacos al pastor. While sipping, enjoy live music and be on the watch for giveaways.
Michelada Fest at The Hoppy Monk
For the second year in a row, this San Antonio’s craft beer destination will celebrate the summer drink by pouring refreshing cocktails made with Texas favorites like Martin House Brewing, Real Ale, and Saint Arnold. Come between 2-5 pm for free live music, patio games, and fabulous prizes.
