San Antonio's hottest bakery brings signature sweets to new location
The sweetest spot in the Pearl is expanding with a second location. Bakery Lorraine will start serving in the Medical Center by the end of May.
"We've watched our location in the Pearl grow so quickly and receive so much local support; it's been overwhelmingly exciting for us," said co-owner and operator Charlie Biedenharn in an announcement. "We are thrilled to be opening a second location in one of the largest parts of San Antonio, alongside our neighbor Local Coffee, who also just opened another spot in the Medical Center."
Helmed by husband-and-wife chefs Anne Ng and Jeremy Mandrell, Bakery Lorraine is known for colorful macarons and French pastries as well as savory offerings, including quiche, salads, and sandwiches. They will develop a new menu for the new location, "which will include our sweet treats but also some new savory dishes and lunch specials," Mandrell said.
Bakery Lorraine in the Medical Center is slated to open at the end of May; an exact date has not been revealed. Hours will be 6 am to 6 pm daily.
