6 sublime San Antonio restaurants for a decadent Mother's Day brunch
Not to induce a panic, but Mother’s Day is on May 12. Unless you want a year of disapproving glances, you’ll want to take her out to brunch. Luckily, we've already done the hard work of finding a restaurant.
As of press time, all of these tasty San Antonio restaurants still had time slots available. It only takes a few moments to book a reservation.
18 Oaks at JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa
One of San Antonio’s most breathtaking properties serves one of the city’s most exquisite brunches from 10 am-2 pm. The swanky buffet includes made-to-order omelets, short rib Benedicts, artisan charcuterie and cheese boards, a raw bar, and a carving station with roasted prime rib and turkey. Best of all, mimosas are included in the price. $52 for adults, $22 for kids ages 4-12.
Boudro’s Texas Bistro
In addition to its regular menu, this elegant River Walk bistro is rolling out a special three-course prix fixe from 11 am-11 pm just for Mom. Start with a choice of lobster bisque or a baby kale and spinach salad, then move on to a pan roasted grouper. Finish it all off with a Poteet strawberry dessert or warm cornmeal poundcake and, of course, a celebratory glass of bubbles. $38.
Maverick Texas Brasserie
This chic Southtown newcomer offers a little something for everyone during its 10:30 am-2 pm brunch. Those with a sweet tooth will want to dive right into the challah French toast with house jam and honey creme fraiche. Savory fiends can’t go wrong with the white bean cassoulet topped with two fried eggs. And anyone can appreciate the exhaustive wine list — one of the best in Alamo City.
Meadow Neighborhood Eatery & Bar
This farm-to-table eatery is rolling out a full Southern buffet from 10 am-2 pm, complete with buttermilk biscuits, fried chicken, seasonal veggies, and a live action egg station from chef and co-owner PJ Edwards. Before the family gets too stuffed however, book a portrait session from Howard Gaude Photography while everyone is dressed in their Sunday best. $40.
StreetFare S.A.
Mother’s Day brunch doesn’t have to be unhealthy, especially when EnergyX Fitness is partnering with StreetFare for a Muscles + Mimosas work out session. Start with an hour of yogalates (yes, that’s a thing) starting at 9:30 am, then hit the Airstream bar to cool down with mimosas. The park's regular food truck lineup will also be on hand to deliver tasty snacks. $25-$40.
Zinc Bistro & Bar
If the guest of honor isn’t a fan of waffles or eggs, take her downtown from 11 am-11 pm for Zinc’s decadent Mother’s Day special. The meal includes a choice of roasted cauliflower bisque or an heirloom tomato and ricotta salad and either a petite filet or butter poached lobster tail. A creamy creme fraiche panna cotta ensures a sweet ending. $30.
