COMING ATTRACTIONS
3 new snack shops to debut in red-hot New Braunfels development
Grain & Berry serves toasts, smoothies, and fruit bowls.
Later this year, finding a snack at New Braunfels’ massive Solms Landing development will be as easy as one, two, three. Jeremiah’s Ice, Swig, and Grain & Berry are opening steps from each other at 2292 Sophie Ln.
Florida-based Grain & Berry will debut its first area location in the small strip center. The opening in New Braunfels instead of San Antonio proper continues the brand’s Texas trajectory, which has skipped major metros in favor of suburban locales like Missouri City and Rowlett.
The chain is best known for build-your-own fruit bowls, smoothies, juices, and parfaits. The “grain” part of its name is a bit overstated. There’s nary a kernel of quinoa or farro, but the cafe does offer light, savory menu items like chicken pesto quesadillas, Caprese toasts, and a classic Caesar salad.

Like its upcoming neighbor, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice does not currently have an Alamo City outpost. San Antonio’s sole location on Culebra Road shuttered less than a year after its 2024 debut.
The frosty franchise serves soft-serve ice cream and Italian ice (natch), sometimes layered together in a treat the chain calls Jelati. The flavors range from fruity selections like watermelon and blue razz to creamy concoctions like horchata to something called Scoop Froggy Frog (a way more fun way to say mint chocolate chip).
Rounding out the trio of future openings is Utah-based Swig. The chain is most famous for being the breakout star of an Olivia Rodrigo TikTok featuring the pop star holding a dirty soda — soft drinks customized with various add-ins, syrups, and creamers. Sometimes gummies, popping boba, or fruit are added for people who want a little texture with their sip.

The timeline for the three debuts is a little muddy. According to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation records, Swig will complete construction in December, and Jeremiah’s was supposed to have completed construction in November 2025. The Solms Landing Facebook page earlier said all three concepts would open by summer 2026, but it has since posted no updates.
