Pearl food hall says hello to saucy new San Antonio taco restaurant
With the pace of San Antonio development, good spots don't stayed empty for long. Just days after healthy eatery The Good Kind bowed out of the Pearl's Bottling Department food hall, a new concept is ready to take its place. SayTown Tacos will settle into the space by the end of February, the company says in a release.
The restaurant comes from Pearl Farmers Market staple Humble House Foods, known for creative condiments like its signature line of pestos. Those savvy sauces will be showcased on six taco options, according to a release.
Fresh flour and corn tortillas will be the base to offerings like the Riverwalk-O-Taco with chicken, pickles, cheese, and crema; the Fiesta Fuego with pork, mixed vegetables, cilantro, and lime; and the Popfather, a potato-loaded treat in homage to Spurs coach Gregg Popovich.
Other temptations include fideo, buñuelos, and rice pudding. Keeping seasonality in mind, SayTown will rotate the various offerings regularly to ensure peak flavor.
For drinks, the concept will also offer a variety of aguas frescas. Those who want something with a little more oomph can step over to the Bar at the Bottling Department for wine, cocktails, and local craft beers.
In perhaps the best news yet, all menu items will be priced at $3-$4, including a choice of house sauce.
"We are blessed to have been a founding member of the Pearl Farmers Market for the past 10 years," said Luis Morales, co-owner of Humble House Foods and SayTown Tacos, via a release. "The new concept, SayTown Tacos, embodies the same dedication and commitment to quality that made Humble House unique. We hope our customers can follow us on this journey as we take the next step with Pearl into the Bottling Department."
