Christmas Carol cocktail event haunts historic San Antonio church
A Christmas Carol Cocktail Experience is coming to Fort Worth in the 2026 holiday season.
A new theatrical holiday-bar experience will transport Fort Worth to Victorian London, and inside Charles Dickens' gothic, ghostly tale A Christmas Carol. But there’ll be no bah humbugs at this event: Instead of conjuring just three Christmas spirits, guests will encounter four — in boozy cocktail form.
"A Christmas Carol Cocktail Experience" will come to San Antonio for the first time on December 4-5 at The Spire at Sunset Station (1174 East Commerce). The event venue will surely add to the historical illusion. It was built as the St. Paul Methodist Church in 1884, a few decades after Dickens published his immortal tale, but is in the Gothic Revival style most people associate with a Victorian Christmas.
"A Christmas Carol Cocktail Experience is a dark, immersive reimagining of Dickens' timeless ghost story in San Antonio, TX —complete with a Victorian twist and four holiday-themed cocktails paired with key scenes," describes the announcement by ticket platform Fever.
The ticketed event - a cross between a holiday pop-up bar and a dinner theater - will take participants on a journey with Scrooge, Marley, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Along the way, guests will enjoy four holiday-themed cocktails, "paired perfectly with each scene of the night."
The setlist of scenes matches cocktails to key scenes, including:
Scene 1: A Ghostly Intro of Ebenezer Scrooge – Paired with Ebenezer's Bitter Awakening.
"A sharp slap to Scrooge’s face in liquid form. Tart lime, biting ginger, and a bitter edge that says, 'Wake up, you miser.' Garnished with dried lime and shredded ginger."
Scene 2: Ghost of Christmas Past – Paired with Past, Present, and Punch.
"A festive trifecta of elderflower, cranberry, and citrus. Sweet, sharp, and surprisingly dangerous - much like the ghosts who won’t let you leave the party. Garnished with cranberries and rosemary."
Scene 3: Ghost of Christmas Present – Paired with Ghostly Gold Cider.
"Golden apples, caramel, and spice swirl in this spectral chalice. Warm on the lips, cold on the soul - a drink that lingers like a whisper from the grave. Finished with cinnamon and dried lemon."
Scene 4: Ghost of Christmas Future – Paired with Marley's Marshmallow Martini.
"Decadent, chocolate-drenched, and topped with ghostly fluff. Sweet enough to lull you into comfort - until you realize you’re drinking with the dead. Garnished with marshmallows and walnuts."
Exact ingredients and liquor brand names have not been revealed. Mocktail alternatives will be available, they say.
The 90-minute experience is produced by Midnight Creative, which has created similar experiences called Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy and Serial Killer Speakeasy.
"Expect sarcasm, shadows, and seasonal spirits both literal and liquid," they say on the website.
The event is for guests aged 21 and up, and cocktail attire is recommended. Seating is provided, and the whole event is indoors.
The experience will take place three times on Friday, December 4 — at 6 pm, 8 pm, and 10 pm; and four times on Saturday, December 12 — at 2 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm, and 8 pm. Dates and showtimes can be selected through the ticket listing on the Fever website. Guests are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled session.
Tickets are $69 for general admission, which includes the performance and four cocktails. VIP tickets are $84 and include front-row seating and the same four drinks. There's also an option to send tickets as a gift through the website.
