Although the number of homes sold went down last month in the San Antonio area, the median home price went up, according to the San Antonio Board of Realtors.
SABoR reported November 17 that home sales declined 5 percent in October compared with same month last year. However, the median sale price climbed to $305,400, up 18 percent from October 2020. This also represents an increase over the September 2021 median home price of $296,900 in the area.
“In 2021, we have seen different rhythms and patterns in home sales, but the market has remained strong as we approach the year’s end,” Cher Miculka, SABoR’s 2021 board chair, says in a news release. “More home options are available, with 2,774 new listings added to the already active 3,968 listings in Bexar County alone.”
In Bexar County, home sales fell 3 percent compared with October 2020, while the median home price rose 19.2 percent to $292,000, according to SABoR. October’s median price was 29.6 percent higher than the median price ($235,700) at the same time two years earlier.
Of the homes sold last month, 99.5 percent went for the list price, compared with 98.4 percent in October 2020.
