McNay Art Museum presents Derrick Adams: Eye Candy
The newest exhibition from print artist Derrick Adams is unveiled at the McNay Art Museum. Adams’ largest project to date — a new work on the museum’s AT&T Lobby wall — explores American pop culture from a Black perspective. Guests can study the mix of print, collage, and other media that focuses on the commodification of the Black body in media. Following opening weekend, the exhibit is on display through August 17.
Tobin Center presents Itzhak Perlman
Violinist Itzhak Perlman performs live in concert at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. Fans can expect a program that celebrates classical virtuoso violin through a modernized rendition. He will be joined by his musical partner Rohan De Silva. A limited number of tickets are available.
Broadway in San Antonio presents Funny Girl
The hit musical Funny Girl comes to Majestic Theatre this weekend only. Audiences will experience a selection of the production’s classic songs including “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” “I’m the Greatest Star,” and “People,” as the story of Fanny Brice and her unexpected rise to Broadway fame unfolds on stage. Performances are scheduled through March 2.

McNay Art Museum presents Sport and Spectator
Sports gear and paraphernalia are transformed into artistic objects at this new McNay Art Museum exhibition. Sport and Spectator includes a variety of sculptures, screen prints, textiles, and sports-themed installations by contemporary artists, all inspired by the role of athletics in shaping society. Featured artists include Justin Korver, Esmaa Mohamoud, Brandon J. Donahue-Shipp, José Villalobos, Sophie Inard, and Tyrrell Winston. Following opening weekend, the exhibit will remain on display through July 27.
The Tobin Center presents The Princess Bride: An Inconceivable Evening with Cary Elwes
The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts hosts actor Cary Elwes for a behind-the-scenes look at the classic film, The Princess Bride. Guests will enjoy a screening of the 1987 hit movie about true love, monsters, and a healthy amount of fencing. Following the screening, Elwes, who plays Wesley, will engage in a moderated discussion about his experience as part of the film’s cast and will exclusive stories with the audience. This event is suitable for all ages.
