Frightening fun
Hill Country resort hosts fang-tastic family-friendly Halloween festivities all month long
One of Texas' favorite family-friendly escapes has a frightening lineup of fun this spooky season. This month, the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa is pulling out all the tricks and treats with a signature cocktail, Halloween Fright House, and fun activities for any age.
Taking over the resort's Ventana Cabana near the River Bluff Water Experience, the Halloween Fright House returns with its traditional ghastly thrills as well as exciting new additions. Bedecked with spooky ghouls, cobwebs, clowns, and more, the attraction is open from 4-9 pm daily through the month of October.
The Fright House may not be suitable for visitors under 12 years old, but there are plenty of activities for guests looking for more fun, less fright. In addition to Halloween arts and crafts, families can participate in spider scavenger hunts, pumpkin decorating, and more.
Apart from those tricks, the resort will have plenty of treats available. Signature s'mores by the fire pit feature ghost-shaped marshmallows for a spooky twist the whole family can enjoy. Adult guests can pair the treat with the seasonal Vanilla Fang, a signature witch's brew of creamy vanilla martini with pumpkin spice flavoring, topped with hot cocoa spider.
Of course, the resort has all the usual, non-seasonal tricks to draw fall visitors, from gorgeous hill country views, 36 holes of PGA Tour golf, an award-winning spa, hiking, biking, dining, and more. Visit the resort online to make a reservation.
