San Antonio will step into 2026 with world’s largest dance party

Celebrate SA hopes to be the world's largest dance party.
Put on your boogie shoes. The San Antonio Parks Foundation is stepping into 2026 with the annual Celebrate SA New Year’s Eve Party and Countdown, promising festivities throughout downtown and what organizers are billing as the world’s largest dance party.
The free December 31 soirée runs from 6 pm-midnight at multiple venues downtown, including Market Street, La Villita, Hemisfair, and the River Walk. Each area promises music, food, rides, and carnival games for all ages.DJ Celebr8 kicks the shindig off at 6 pm on the Market Street main stage, followed by live music from flamboyant local cover band Mélange at 9 pm. The perennial Celebrate SA favorite is known for high-energy vocals, frequent costume changes, and dynamic performances.
Over in Plaza Juarez at La Villita, the new AU Vodka New Year’s Eve Glow Party will light up the night with DJ Men-Yo spinning genre-blending sets amid glowing visuals, immersive entertainment, and cocktails. Guests can also enjoy festive foods and photo opportunities throughout the evening.

Civic Park at Hemisfair provides a more family-friendly experience soundtracked by the ever-popular Soundcream Airstream. Revelers can stroll through local vendors and food stalls while kids enjoy a special countdown, crafts, and games at Yanaguana Garden. A carnival behind Magik Theatre and the Skate the City skating rink adds to the magic.
As always, the evening climaxes with fireworks. Planners promise a 14-minute display illuminating the skies over downtown San Antonio. It’s up to you whether you want to bust a few moves among the oohs and aahs.
“This year, we’re inviting the entire community to join us for the world’s largest dance party in downtown San Antonio,” said Mary Jane Verette, president and CEO of the San Antonio Parks Foundation, in a release. “Celebrate SA is a chance for everyone to come together, spread good vibes, dance, and ring in the New Year — while uplifting our community and making history for our city.”
