2 San Antonio resorts shine in Travel + Leisure's highly coveted World's Best Awards
Two iconic San Antonio resorts, La Cantera Resort and Spa in San Antonio and Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, have earned high recognition in the 2023 edition of Travel and Leisure's highly coveted list of readers' favorite Texas resorts. The hotels' rankings are the latest accolades to get added to San Antonio's ever-growing catalog of top-tier lodging recommendations.
Winners in T+L's report are decided by more than 165,000 readers who completed their World's Best Awards survey in 2023. Each resort hotel was critiqued based on their rooms and facilities, their location, guest service, food, and overall value.
The second place winner, La Cantera Resort and Spa, is a 550-acre Hill Country oasis with a heavy emphasis on relaxation. The pride of the property is the lavish and famed Loma de Vida Spa and Wellness, a local and Texas favorite for its no-detail-spared pampering and lush pools and amenities, spread across 25,000 square feet.
"Loma de Vida Spa and Wellness invokes the spirit of the Hill Country and Texas to inspire traditional spa offerings (massages, facials), signature experiences indigenous to the area and results orientated services integrating technology and nature to create a true sense of balanced well-being," the hotel's website says.
La Cantera Resort and Spa's recent No. 2 position is a shining improvement over it's previous rank as No. 8 in Travel and Leisure's2022 report.
Coming in at No. 5 is the "dude-ranch-style" Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, which also moved up several places from No. 10 in 2022. Besides excellent guest service and luxurious experiences, this newly-renovated resort has also prioritized its convenient location to several San Antonio attractions, such as SeaWorld and the downtown Riverwalk.
Guests can enjoy making a splash at the year-round five-acre water park, or take advantage of the secluded Wildflower Spa. The resort also boasts a 27-hole onsite golf club.
Elsewhere in Central Texas, Austin's Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection (No. 3) and Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa (No. 4) also earned spots in the report.
