San Antonio sizzles as one of the hottest destinations for 4th of July weekend
Planning to spend Fourth of July in Alamo City? You're not the only one. According to information from Priceline.com, San Antonio ranks among the top travel destinations for the upcoming holiday weekend.
San Antonio comes in at No. 20, ahead of Dallas (No. 22), Houston (No. 30), and Austin (No. 35), based on the number of hotel bookings made for the 2016 holiday weekend.
Our vibrant culture and sparkling Independence Day events are big draws for out-of-towners, but Priceline was charmed by our affordable accommodations too. The discount travel site says the average hotel room rate for the holiday is only $128 per night — not a bad deal for a staycation either. Those traveling by air can score a round-trip ticket from Dallas to San Antonio for as low as $245; gas on that drive, says Priceline, will run you $49 round trip.
All those barbecue-loving Alamo City travelers are in luck, too, because CheapTickets.com recently named us the No. 3 destination for 'cue. May we suggest hitting up one of these hot spots around town?
