Downtown San Antonio's newest restaurant offers tribute to Texas
The San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter’s new restaurant is opening its doors to diners. Following a multimillion-dollar renovation, Tributary opens just in time for Valentine's Day.
The eatery replaced what was the main lobby and bar of the hotel, located at 101 Bowie St. The restaurant itself seats 72 people, while the bar and high-top table area seat about 60 people.
After softly opening in December, the restaurant will celebrate its grand opening February 14 and 15. The hotel will offer a Valentine’s Day package comprising of a dinner for two at Tributary with Santa Margherita wine pairings, as well as overnight accommodations. Each night’s dinner will start with a 6:30 pm reception followed by a four-course, fixed-price dinner at 7 pm.
Tributary serves a modern Texas-inspired menu featuring dishes with locally and regionally sourced ingredients. The menu includes standards like shrimp, short ribs, and brick chicken. Among the seasonal items are duck salad with winter greens, and quail and waffles.
Leading the kitchen is chef Ben Annotti, former executive chef and managing partner of San Antonio’s Pinch Boil House. Before that, he worked at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa.
“I am committed to using local Texas ingredients in the kitchen,” Annotti says in a January 28 release, “and developing relationships across the state of Texas to form a bond that allows Tributary to highlight the best of Texas’ bounty of products.”
