Condé Nast Traveler ranks San Antonio resort among best in Southwest

Fresh off its $40 million renovation, the Signia by Hilton La Cantera Resort and Spa has another reason to crow. The posh Northwest Side property was named the No. 8 best resort in the American Southwest by Condé Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards.
The rankings were measured by more than 757,000 responses from the magazine's global readers, who rated their travel experiences to offer a comprehensive look at places they plan to revisit. The annual awards program is one of the most coveted in the travel industry.
"Being named one of the top 10 resorts in the Southwest by the Condé Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards is an incredible honor," said Ben Turner, the resort's general manager, in a release. "The hospitality provided by our team members at Signia by Hilton La Cantera Resort and Spa is unmatched, and this accolade is a testament to the commitment to service our team shows to our guests each day."

The honor comes amid a new chapter for the 26-year-old property. In late May, La Cantera Resort debuted 496 reimagined ranch-chic guest rooms, including 34 boutique-style villas. On October 3, the resort celebrated the ribbon cutting of The Calera, a new 5,100 square-foot event space for weddings and galas.
The property also recently joined the Hilton umbrella under the Signia brand. The move gives guests access to the hotel chain's popular Hilton Honors perks program.
San Antonians can see what all the hubbub is about by taking a staycation or attending one of the resort's upcoming special events, like Jingle All the Way. Starting November 21, the property will be full of holiday cheer with a holiday roller-skating rink and a visit from celebrity chocolatier Gonzo Jimenez.
