This San Antonio hotel near the center of town is starting a $9 million renovation project to keep up with its luxury status. Grand Hyatt San Antonio River Walk's renovations will upgrade the lobby and public spaces, provide new coffee and cocktail options, and include the debut of a new dining concept, Moda Fare.
These will be accomplished on a short timeline, and the hotel will operate as usual during the renovations. A press release estimates they will be done by early March 2025.

That's "just in time for March Madness," pointed out Area Vice President and hotel general manager Philip Stamm in a press release. “The project will blend premier luxury with functionality to provide an unparalleled River Walk experience, complete with a sophisticated design, elevated dining, and a brand-new coffee house for our guests and local community.”
In store for the lobby are new check-in desks, crystal chandeliers, more lighting fixtures, and an open layout. More impactful for visitors will be the new Tejas Lounge within the lobby, which will present a menu of cocktails that are just available in the midcentury, Texas-inspired space. The menu of "Texas spirits and light bites" continues the theme.

The next task is replacing two food and beverage spaces with new concepts. The more major change is turning Bar Rojo into Moda Fare, which will serve "elevated Italian cuisine." As the name suggests, style is important at this restaurant, which will feature wood accents and new wood flooring, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a garden-style patio with fans and TVs for sports.
The release does not share any information about the menu at Moda Fare.

Finally, Perks Coffee is being scrapped to make way for Spoonful Provisions, a fancier coffee shop offering premium roasts from different companies. Once again, the details are mostly aesthetic; while potential guests look forward to a nice cup of coffee, they can admire the marble counter and rows of "Texas inspired products" and grab-and-go snacks.

The press release does not announce any changes to the attached Ruth's Chris Steak House, one of three locations for the upscale chain in San Antonio.
Grand Hyatt San Antonio River Walk is located at 600 E Market St. It also features a rooftop pool, meeting and event spaces, and 1,003 guest rooms.
