Dallas cafe-with-a-cause to open dreamy new San Antonio coffee shop

La La Land Kind Cafe will expand its mission to the Shops of La Cantera this fall.
A dreamy coffee chain with a purpose is coming to San Antonio’s Shops of La Cantera. Dallas-based La La Land Kind Cafe will debut at 15900 La Cantera Pkwy. #20100 as early as this fall, bringing on-the-job training to foster youth.
The name might lean nonsensical, but the cafe has a serious mission. After finding success with poke restaurants, Francois Reihani founded the concept to make a greater social impact. The chain provides paid internships to smooth the transition from foster care to adulthood and other vital services through its sibling La La Land Foundation
Guests wouldn’t necessarily know the altruistic angle when visiting one of the Texas or California locations. Affirmations are printed on the coffee sleeves, but the shop skips a hard sell about its mission.

Instead, the all-white spaces are filled with cloud-like furnishings that would make any Kardashian feel right at home. Some outposts lean cosmopolitan with contemporary lighting; some go modern farmhouse with wood beams. All are punctuated with chipper yellow accents.
As for the offerings, guests can expect social media-savvy drinks like the preppy pink Strawberry Fields and the Upsidedown Latte, which flips the espresso shot from bottom to top. The food menu is limited to toast in Millennial-friendly flavors like avocado, hazelnut, and truffle burrata.
The San Antonio La La Land will be in the same space as womenswear shop Francesca’s. A store employee confirmed that the location would close this summer, making room for the cafe. According to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filings, renovation work will conclude in late October.
