Shark Tank success story Cousins Maine Lobster will soon be retesting the waters of San Antonio’s restaurant scene. A company rep verified that California-based chain Cousins Maine Lobster will open a dedicated Alamo City truck this summer.

Cousins is no stranger to South Central Texas. The company debuted in the city in 2016, adding a second truck to the fleet three months later. Although the trucks have made occasional appearances over the last few years, the expansion marks a more permanent commitment to the San Antonio market.

The Los Angeles-based concept first came to fruition when Jim Tselikis and Sabin Lomac reminisced about the foods they enjoyed growing up in Portland, Maine. The cousins opened their first truck in 2012, quickly growing the business over the next two years.

A 2012 appearance on the ABC reality show Shark Tank helped rocket the brand to national fame. "Shark" Barbara Corcoran invested $55,000 in the company, which has since grown to over 60 locations, including several brick-and-mortar storefronts. In 2021, Tselikis and Lomac even landed their own show, Food Truck Rehab, on the Food Network.

Once rolling in San Antonio, Cousins will serve two classic lobster roll styles — Maine and Connecticut. The chilled Maine variety is dressed with mayo and lemon, while the warm Connecticut is drizzled with drawn butter.

The trucks also dish out New England favorites like lobster bisque and clam chowder and other seafood specialties like a combo meal of lobster tail and tots. Menu details for the San Antonio truck have not yet been released.

Cousins has not confirmed the exact rollout for their foray into San Antonio, but we will update this story as more information becomes available. The company's trucks do not have permanent location, but posts its weekly schedule on its website.
