Chick-fil-A tests new chicken & waffles sandwich in San Antonio

The chicken & waffle sandwich will be available at select San Antonio Chick-fil-As in December.
If you crave chicken and waffles, you may want to flock to a Chick-fil-A restaurant near you. Beginning December 1, the popular chain will be the only Texas market to test its chicken and waffles sandwich at select locations in the San Antonio market, the company confirmed.
The chain has kept mum on the exact details of the launch. According to Instagram and Facebook posts, the sandwich consists of two warm maple waffles, a spicy or original chicken filet, applewood-smoked bacon, honey-butter spread, and syrup. The test is supposed to last through January 24, although it might end earlier if local restaurants run out of the sandwiches.
Chick-fil-A’s regular chicken sandwich features a breaded boneless chicken breast pressure-cooked in peanut oil, served on a toasted, buttered bun with dill pickle chips.
Chick-fil-A did not provide a list of San Antonio-area restaurants participating in the chicken-and-waffles test. The chain recommends checking with a restaurant you plan to visit to find out whether the sandwich is sold there.
During the same period as the San Antonio test, Chick-fil-A is rolling out its Chicken & Waffles Sandwich and Chicken & Waffles Breakfast Sandwich at select restaurants in the Baltimore area.
Limited-time menu offerings like the chicken-and-waffle sandwiches “are a way for companies to test out certain products. If the feedback, operations, and economics are favorable, the company could decide to launch it nationwide,” Fox Business reported.
This isn’t Chick-fil-A’s first test of a menu item this year. In June, Nation’s Restaurant News reported the chain was testing a Jalapeño Ranch Club Chicken Sandwich in Salt Lake City and a Creamy BBQ Chicken Sandwich in Jacksonville, Florida.
