OPENING ALERT
Healthy bistro Bellagreen returns to San Antonio after one year hiatus

Bellagreen is days away from its San Antonio return.
After a year’s hiatus, fast-casual bistro Bellagreen is finally reopening its sole San Antonio location at 1900 Broadway near downtown. The Richardson-based chain says it will re-emerge on June 16.
“San Antonio, we’ve missed you," wrote the restaurant on social media. “Come enjoy your favorites, say hello to the team, and help us kick off this new chapter.”
Bellagreen’s first run in the Alamo City was short-lived. The restaurant debuted in November 2024, operating for six months before ongoing construction prompted a temporary closure in May 2025.
"Bellagreen made the decision to temporarily close our location because construction limited our ability to deliver the full experience to our guests,” explained Brand President Beth Collins at the time.
The facade work had been ongoing since summer 2024, when a manufacturing error caused masonry debris to fall from the building. Due to safety concerns, a tangle of scaffolding was erected around Jefferson Bank's headquarters, allowing workers to begin painstakingly replacing the stone.
Although Bellagreen opened while the scaffolding was on the building, the original 2025 construction timeline was delayed. Temporary vinyl signage was erected for the restaurant and neighbors, The Newstand and Nineteen Hyaku, but the restaurant's full branding was never fully on view.

The Texas-born concept is known for its better-for-you approach to quick dining. It's menu features lean proteins and vegetables in dishes like spaghetti squash Bolognese, brick chicken, and grilled salmon served with fingerling potatoes and carrots.
"We believe in living a balanced life, and our menu reflects that with delicious and abundant options,” the company said in a previous statement. “With made-for-you dishes, quick and friendly service, and charitable ties, our guests can feel good about their dining choice.”
To celebrate the reopening, Bellagreen is having a little fun with San Antonio’s area code. The first 210 guests who purchase an entrée will get a discounted $2.10 dessert.
