TEA TIME
Adorable San Antonio bubble tea chain brews up new North Side café

Artea is brewing up its third cafe.
A third snack shop from San Antonio’s popular Artea is bubbling up in Park North. A brand employee confirms that the boba mini-chain is converting a former credit union at 602 N.W. Loop 410 # 114 into its newest cafe.
True to its name, the spot features an assortment of photogenic sippers, like boba lattes and loose-leaf tea. And for those who like documenting everything they eat and drink, nothing is more viral than the bonsai milk tea decorated to look like a potted plant.
Non-brewed beverages include smoothies, slushes, and frappes, and a few drinks not commonly found in Alamo City. One shakes up vibrant butterfly pea powder over ice; another blends winter melon with Taiwanese aiyu jelly made from the pectin of creeping fig seeds.

Although drinks are the focus, Artea has a much more extensive food menu than most tea shops. The pan-Asian offerings span Japanese ramen, crab rangoon, sushi rolls, and rice and noodle bowls.
Artea first opened at 6362 De Zavala Rd. in 2019, with a second outpost in the Culebra Commons shopping center following in 2022. It’s a rare local player in a San Antonio beverage scene increasingly being dominated by rapidly growing franchises like HTeaO, It’s Boba Time, and Candy Cloud.
Although the Artea employee didn’t have a timeline for the Park North opening, Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation project details say the company is targeting a completion date of May 2026. State filings are subject to change without notice.
